- Act as a project manager for commercial and defense programs, working with engineering and production personnel to ensure projects are executed on schedule and on budget while meeting contractual requirements and performance objectives.
- He has served as a Deputy Project Manager on NASA science missions, assisting Advanced Project Managers with systems engineering, subcontractor management, and other engineering-related and administrative tasks.
- Create and present review materials for kick-off meetings, system requirements reviews, design reviews, manufacturing and test readiness reviews, and pre-shipment reviews.
- Work with quality management to define EIDP requirements, assist in the production of EIDP materials, and perform final EIDP review and submission.
- Create and manage budgets for fixed price and cost reimbursement programs.
- Create Gantt charts in Microsoft Project to document baseline plans, track progress, and report status.
- Manage the creation and submission of deliverable documents according to contractual requirements.
- Acts as the primary point of contact for customers and leads weekly status teleconferences, reviews and technical exchange meetings.
- Acts as the program’s contractual liaison and liaises with internal legal counsel, management and customer contract representatives.
- Generate and distribute requirements validation matrices that document compliance, validation methods, and traceability to validation documents.
- Perform programmatic and technical risk assessments. Identify and track risks and create a risk burndown plan.
- Review RFP specifications and prepare commercial, defense and scientific program proposals including technical descriptions of proposed hardware, compliance matrices, cost estimates and lead times.
- Create statements of work and performance specifications for mechanics, optical systems, and/or electrical equipment.
- Coordinate with procurement team to purchase EEE components, circuit boards, metal components, optical assemblies.
- Communicate environmental test requirements to engineering and review test plans and procedures.

minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering (EE or ME generally preferred).
- 5-10 years of professional experience providing engineering and project management support for highly complex electronic products
- Experience in spaceflight hardware, especially mechanical design, environmental testing, FPGA development (VHDL), software development (ANSI C, Python) or optics (Zemax/Code V) preferred.
- Experience in writing technical documentation and proficiency in using common office software. Includes databases, flowcharts, project schedulers and spreadsheets.
- As part of a cross-functional team, you will experience the transition of products from design to manufacturing.
- Government contract work requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.

You must be able to remain in a stationary position while working with your computer for long periods of time. Handle multiple priorities simultaneously. You should be able to communicate clearly with different people on a daily basis. You may move around the office to access office equipment, lab space, and machine shops. It can lift and carry objects up to 10 lbs. as needed. Possess a level of mental acuity that facilitates the execution of complex technical/engineering instructions. Ability to handle high stress levels associated with multiple conflicting priorities and deadlines. High tolerance for ambiguity and changing expectations. Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workloads.
