Castle Hayne Equipment is looking for a skilled mechanic to join the team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Service, repair, rebuild and diagnose mechanical systems on gas/diesel powered motor vehicles, heavy equipment and power tools.
- Drive cars and fuel trucks.
- Drive a fuel truck.
- Performs skilled mechanical tasks including the following systems:
- Preventive maintenance
- Tyres and tubes
- wheel
- rim
- Cranking System
- Lighting System
- Cooling System
- Fuel System
- Hydraulic
What to bring
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker (N) Endorsement. (If you don’t have one, please apply!) This can be achieved within 360 days of hire through our on-the-job training program.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing one or more of the following brake components on light, medium, heavy, or agricultural machinery.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance on one or more of the following: light, medium, or heavy trucks or heavy equipment.
- Experience diagnosing basic electrical systems and appropriate wiring repairs.
- Experience repairing basic hydraulic systems including replacing parts and hoses.
- Knowledge of truck and heavy equipment diagnostic software, tools and equipment.
- Steel toed safety shoes.
- Ability to work emergency and inclement weather conditions including snow, ice, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. which may result in extended work hours each day, weekends, and holiday work.
- Ability to perform work that meets all safety regulations.
- Ability to prepare and maintain documentation related to employment, equipment repairs, inventory, and service records.
- Able to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Strength and agility to move parts and materials for equipment repair and maintenance.
- The equipment can be safely operated for testing purposes.
- Leads by example and demonstrated commitment to a safe work environment.
- Ability to read and interpret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals.
Note
- We conduct pre-employment drug testing and background checks for controlled substances and alcohol testing for the past two years.
- Current certification with the EPA as a Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician may be required.
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or GED diploma, and
- 2+ years of relevant experience, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
