New High Salary: $76,290 – $148,765 Challenge We provide technical expertise, guidance, design and quality assurance to manage stormwater, river and coastal impacts in and around roads to protect them. We are looking for an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join our Hydraulics team. Public, Environmental, and NCDOT Properties. In this role you will: Manages state highway stormwater programs and staff. Supervises staff and private engineering firms in the implementation of national, state, and federal stormwater regulatory requirements. Develop interdepartmental, interagency, university, government, community, and interorganizational organizations. Resource partnerships to enhance delivery of program requirements. Design a sustainable stormwater program that can be effectively managed, implemented, and integrated into NCDOT business units. Oversee contract management for a team at a private engineering firm. Provides program oversight through management of budget, staff, and contract resources and coordination of projects and activities to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services. Reviews and implements program protocols, procedures, and policies. Acts as a subject. problem expert. Apply engineering solutions to complex challenges to make the right recommendations and decisions in a variety of situations. Develop and direct research initiatives and collaborate with university professors and research institutions. What you bring to the table Knowledge of DOT organization and operations, as well as related stormwater laws, regulations, and policies. Experience using hydrology, hydraulic engineering, and environmental engineering principles, including advanced modeling for water quality and stormwater compliance with federal and state requirements. Management and Management Experience Experience supervising a team of professionals, including training, evaluating performance, and achieving organizational goals. Experience using GIS, SAP (or equivalent systems), and other IT tools to effectively manage data and efficiently distribute information. Experience in research development and leadership. Experience working effectively with resource agencies, staff, and stakeholders to achieve project goals and strengthen interagency collaboration. Deep expertise in the stormwater sector, effectively applying technical knowledge to solve complex challenges and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Manage your experience leading teams by organizing resources, communicating clearly with stakeholders, and integrating the latest methodologies to achieve organizational goals. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years of management experience. or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
